1About this policy

This policy covers the FishTail app and the website at fishtail.team, which are run by FishTail Team. "We" means FishTail Team, and "you" means anyone who uses the app or visits the website.

2What we collect

• Account information you give us: your email address, your name, a display name and a password.
• Your catches: what you record about each catch, including where and when you caught it.
• Location: your phone's precise location while you use the app, if you allow it.
• Photos: the photos you take or choose for a catch, if you allow it, and the location and camera details stored in them.
• Invitations: the email address of anyone you invite.
• Technical information: IP addresses and request details, recorded automatically when your phone or browser connects to our servers.

3How we use it

We use your information only to provide FishTail: to run your account, store your catches and keep them in step across your phones, place a catch and show it on a map, date and place a catch from its photo, show what you share to your team, send the emails about your account and your invitations, get the weather for a catch when you ask, and keep the service working and secure.

4Who we share it with

• Your team sees the catches you share with it, and your display name.
• People you invite see your display name and your team's name.
• Service providers that host our servers and data, send our emails, and provide weather and map data receive only what they need for that work. We use providers that protect it to the standard this policy sets.
• The law. We disclose information when the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

5Cookies and tracking

The website does not use cookies. FishTail shows no advertising and uses no analytics or tracking, and no one else collects information about your activity across other apps or websites through FishTail. Because nothing tracks you, a Do Not Track signal changes nothing.

6Keeping and deleting

We keep your information while you have an account.

You can delete your account in the app. That deletes your account information, catches and photos right away. Your display name stays in the results of team events that have already finished. You can also ask for deletion by email to privacy@fishtail.team, from the address on your account.

An invited email address is kept until the invitation is accepted, revoked, or expires.

Request logs are kept for a limited time to run and secure the service, then deleted.

7Your choices

You can see and change your account information and your catches in the app, export your catches, and turn off location, camera and photo access in your phone's settings.

8Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections and access controls. No method is perfectly secure.

9Children

FishTail is for people 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email privacy@fishtail.team and we will delete it.

10Changes

When this policy changes, we post the new version here and update the date at the top.
